Citrine Pot: Ether and Locations

Quick Answer

Use an Ether from the item menu and target Citrine Pot, not an ally. The encounter then ends in victory. Carry the item before interacting with the shining pot and save before your reward attempt.

Open the item menu, select an Ether, and target Citrine Pot. Giving it the requested item ends the encounter in victory. Casting stronger spells or trying another element is not the solution to this pot's special battle.

Bring an Ether before interacting with a shining pot, and make a save beforehand if its reward matters to you. The defeated pot cannot be farmed repeatedly at the same location, and an Elixir is a possible drop rather than a guaranteed prize.

Complete the Ether request

  1. Interact with the shining pot to start the encounter.
  2. Read its item request. The Citrine Pot asks for an Ether.
  3. Choose the Ether in your battle item menu and move the target selection onto the enemy pot.
  4. Confirm the use of the item and finish the reward screen.

The target is the easy detail to miss: giving an Ether to your own party restores your party's MP instead of fulfilling the pot's request. You are spending a consumable on the enemy to resolve an interaction, rather than weakening it for a conventional finishing attack.

Game8's October 22 walkthrough demonstrates this item-targeting solution. Game Rant's launch guide also describes satisfying the requested item, with fleeing and returning as the alternative when you do not have it. Other colored pots can ask for different items; read their requests rather than spending an Ether automatically on every pot you meet.

Find the two early Citrine Pots

LocationAccess and landmark
Siren's Tower, Chapter 1Advance the story through Grandport Harbor so you can enter the tower. Look along the left side above a flight of stairs for the shining pot.
Mobliz Shipyard, Chapter 2Continue the story after the Mama Bomb encounter at Dwarven Forge. In the second room, use the elevator on the left, walk upward, then turn right into the fenced area. A chest sits at its upper-right corner.

These are separate encounters. Finding the Mobliz pot does not mean the one you already defeated in Siren's Tower has respawned. The two locations are listed by both the launch walkthrough and the Citrine Pot bestiary entry.

Stop attacking when the damage stays at one

The launch walkthrough reports that ordinary attacks deal one damage and the pot restores its health. The bestiary also records physical and magical nullification, with no elemental weakness. Together, these explain why changing your damage build is the wrong response to this encounter.

Treat the Ether as the encounter's condition rather than looking for a hidden weakness. You do not need to train a particular Vision, reach an invented damage threshold, or spend a Limit Burst to make the request work.

Rewards and the one-time attempt

The encounter awards MRP, and the Elixir is recorded as a rare drop. Do not budget around receiving an Elixir from every successful pot. Older demo articles publish a numerical drop rate, but this guide does not extend a demo data figure into a guaranteed launch-version probability.

After victory, the launch walkthrough reports that the ground pot loses its shine and no longer starts another encounter. Save before interacting if you want to preserve a separate attempt rather than discovering the one-time behavior after you have collected the result.

Expert difficulty awards more MRP. The launch pot guide recommends it for this item-based encounter, since satisfying the request does not depend on defeating the pot through damage. That is an optional reward optimization, not a prerequisite: an Ether is the requirement.
